An Underserved Market that has Weathered Space Industry Changes Well
Though initially impacted by job reductions at the Kennedy Space Center, or KSC (following the completion of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program), this area remains a global leader in the space industry, with 21 rocket launches in 2018, excluding military and the announced Orion Program to Mars, beginning this December. KSC continues to employ a workforce of more than 8,500 and has contracts with such premiere aerospace firms as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Space X—all of which employ hundreds locally. The Space Coast is the #2 fastest growing job market in the United States.
North Brevard County (which includes the City of Titusville) is also home to a growing number of diverse manufacturers, including Knight Enterprises, Barn Light Electric, Ecklers Automotive, and VectorWorks Marine—companies representing industries independent of the aerospace sector.
